Don't be fooled by imitators! If the chair isn't stamped "H & T Chair Company", it’s not the same!
H & T Chair Co. is the original designer and manufacturer of the wood beach chair with leg rest. The company was established by the Todd family in South Florida in 1967. EVERY chair manufactured has been handled, assembled and approved by the owner of the company, Rick Todd. We believe that quality control and customer service is key. We maintain our small family business by using standards rarely found today. We care about our product and have pride in what we do.
What are your shipping times?
Our wood beach chairs and beach umbrellas are made just for you! Because our products are manufactured, assembled and shipped directly from our factory they do take a little extra time. On average, chairs and umbrellas are made and shipped within 10 - 15 working days. Although we're experiencing supply and fabric delays due to Covid-19, we work diligently to get all orders out as soon as possible. Please allow an additional 2 weeks for custom screen print and embroidery orders.
Is there a wholesale discount?
We offer wholesale discounts on quantities of 10 or more of each item. Please give us a call or email when ordering in quantity so that we can adjust your price and shipping costs accordingly.
How will my order be delivered?
Orders are shipped using Fed Ex, UPS and in some cases, US Mail. You will be provided with a tracking number upon shipment. Should your order be a large quantity, a trucking line will be used and you will be notified prior to delivery.
What is the difference between the 101 beach chair and the 105 mini lounge?
The 101 beach chair is taller and longer than the 105 chair. The 101 beach chair with leg rest is 39H x 24W x 72L and sits 13” off the ground. The 105 mini lounge with leg rest is 34H x 24W x 68L and sits 9” off the ground. The 101 beach chair reclines to four positions, but does not lie flat. The 105 mini lounge also reclines to four positions, and does recline flat.
Where is the rest of my order?
Many times items are shipped separately and therefore may arrive separately. You will be notified at the time of order if items will ship separately but if at any time you have a concern, please contact us by telephone or email.
Do fabrics provide UV protection?
Sunbrella and Outdura fabrics have been tested and proven to provide up to 98% UV protection from harmful effects of the sun when used in shade applications. Sunbrella fabrics have been awarded the "Seal of Recommendation" by The Skin Cancer Foundation, an international organization dedicated to the prevention of skin cancer. Lighter colors provide less protection than darker colors which have more depth of color. This UV protective factor is inherent to the product and will not be reduced by usage or exposure to the sun.
Does the umbrella come apart?
Yes, the beach umbrellas have a two piece pole which separates easily for transporting and storing. The bottom pole is pointed to help anchor in the sand.
Should I get a metal or fiberglass frame umbrella?
Metal is a sturdy and standard option. Because of the nature of metal there is a chance the frame could rust. Fiberglass umbrella frames are made to be flexible and rust proof. Both umbrellas weight 14lbs and both come with a wood center pole.
How does the leg rest come off the beach chair?
There is no assembly required. Each leg rest has two brass hooks which simply sit directly on the beach chair dowel.
Can I put my name or logo on the chair or umbrella?
Absolutely! We offer both silk screening and embroidering options on both the chairs and umbrellas. Please see the custom silk screening page for more information.
How do I clean my chairs?
Sunbrella recommends cleaning fabric with a solution with the following proportions: ½ cup of Clorox, ½ cup of Ivory and 1 gallon of luke warm water. A nylon scrub brush works best. All fabric should be air dried. Under no circumstances should fabrics be put in hot water or run through a dryer.
What color should I get?
High quality beach chairs and umbrellas are an investment and the right color choice is important…we get it! If you would like to see color samples of the actual fabric, please just ask. We’re happy to mail them.
